Bill Leak’s life was a ‘gift to a biographer’

Author Fred Pawle feels “enormously privileged” to have been allowed to write a biography of Bill Leak and says the talented cartoonist’s life was a “gift” to a biographer.

“I spent three years thinking about him almost every day, and I still do. As you know, we miss him,” he told Sky News Australia.

“Those arcs in the book are actually incredible. What a gift his life was to a biographer.

“I feel enormously privileged to have been given the opportunity … and I have to thank his family for initially helping me with this and approving me as his biographer.”
