google meet brightness adjust

Google Meet will automatically adjust webcam brightness in your browser – TechCrunch

It will soon make it easier for you to see all of your co-workers or friends correctly on video calls. The web version of the app can detect when someone is underexposed due to insufficient lighting. The meet will then increase the brightness, so it’s easier to see your cohorts and perhaps make your feed clearer if you have a terrible webcam.

The low-light mode hit the Google Meet iOS and Android mobile apps. It uses AI to examine light levels and tweak the brightness. There’s no admin control for the feature, though users will be able to — Google says having it enabled might slow down your device.

The feature is coming to all and G Suite primary and business users. Google is rolling it out to Rapid Release domains starting today and Scheduled Release domains on October 4th. The rollout will take up to 15 days in both cases, so a lousy webcam could be a thing of the past on Meet calls by mid-October.
